The Certified Nursing Assistant’s Role Our clinical teams are the backbone of Pearl Healthcare and the Certified Nursing Assistant is instrumental in providing excellent care and service to our patients and residents. Working alongside our RNs and LPNs, the CNA will be the frontline caregiver in assisting the patient/resident with their needs as well as communicating additional needs to the nurses and appropriate ancillary team members as needed. We focus on the individual patient and as a result they are more engaged with you. • Safety is our NUMBER 1 PRIORITY! o We have ample supply of PPE (N95 / Surgical Masks / Gloves / Gowns / Face Shields) o Temperature screenings and routine health checks o Weekly Covid testing of all staff members The Role of the CNA • Answers patient & resident call lights in a timely manner • Assists the resident with bathing, dressing, grooming, dental/mouth care, as well as proper application of glasses, hearing aids and dentures, toileting and other personal care and hygiene. • Completes daily tasks including, but not limited to, taking resident/guest weights as ordered, vitals, making the bed and tidying the resident’s suites. May assist with moving residents to new rooms as needed or as assigned. • Provides health care services according to each invidual care plan • Assists in the serving and clean-up after meals. Helps ensure that each resident’s nutritional status is met and maintained and food preferences are honored. • Properly uses and cares for equipment and supplies. • Reports any changes in resident/patient condition immediately to licensed nursing staff. • Remains compliant with documenting patient care • Actively participates in continuous quality assurance performance improvement. • Supports seamless service between shifts, gives and takes reports upon beginning and ending of shift. Shares new information about resident preferences and successful/unsuccessful approaches and services. • Supports new staff with learning the person-centered care model, policies and procedures, and job responsibilities. • Maintains confidentiality and privacy of resident information and care. • Attends in-service training and education session as assigned.
